Location. Located in Avalon, Calif., the Avalon Hotel on Catalina Island is one-quarter mile from the beach, shops, restaurants and tours. The historic Art Deco Catalina Casino, one-quarter mile from the hotel, features the Avalon Theatre, offering first-run movies, the Catalina Island Museum, the Casino Art Gallery and the world-famous circular Casino Ballroom. The Catalina Island Golf Course is less than one mile away. Self-guided exhibits, hands-on activities and a Resource Center are available at The Nature Center at Avalon Canyon, less than four miles from the property.
Features. This 1925 Arts and Crafts style hotel features handcrafted mahogany woodwork, imported slate flooring, stained-glass windows, local artwork and handcrafted tiles based on classic Catalina designs. The custom furniture was crafted in the Greene and Greene style of the Gamble House in Pasadena. Complimentary continental breakfasts are served each morning on the garden patio or in the lobby. Light refreshments are available all day. The rooftop deck with lounge chairs and tables offers a 360-degree view overlooking the island and the Avalon Harbor. The garden patio features a fire pit, fountain, tables, chairs and market umbrellas. Pets are not allowed at the property.
