Fremont, California is located inland from the southeast corner of San Francisco Bay. It combined from 5 towns to become the 2nd largest city in Alameda county at nearly 100,000. Fremont has the advantage of being near more expensive Silicon Valley to the south. It has become a bedroom community for high-tech workers. About 40% of the residents are Asian, and there are many good restaurants in the strip malls that dot the area. Historic Mission San Jose is at the eastern end of town.

Fremont is home to such high-tech companies as LAM Research, Cirrus Logic, and New United Motors.
