Whidbey Island is accessible from one bridge or two ferries from Mukilteo and Port Townsend. Once thought to be a peninsula, it is a scenic marvel of vistas, forests, coves, farms and picturesque villages like Coupeville, the oldest town in Washington.

The San Juan Islands are just to the north of Whidbey Island. Snohomish Co. is on the mainland to the east.
